Pitch Spotify editorial
A tight pitch and matching tags, submitted in Spotify for Artists at least 7 days out, so the song lands in your followers' Release Radar and gets a real shot at editorial.
What this gets you
A pitch under 500 characters that says what makes the song distinct, plus genre, mood and instrument tags ready to paste. Submitting it 7 or more days before release guarantees the song shows up in your existing followers' Release Radar; editorial playlists are the upside on top.
When to use it
Use it for every unreleased song, once your distributor has delivered it and it shows under Music, Upcoming in Spotify for Artists. It is useless after release day: Spotify only accepts pitches for unreleased music. If release is under 7 days away, do it today.
Do it
- Open Spotify Editorial Coach. The card at the top says Pitch at least 7 days before release.
- Under Upcoming releases, click your song. It appears once you set a release date on a pre-save link or a track in your library. Not listed? Use Pitch something else: type the Track name, pick the date, click Start pitch.
- In Your pitch, click Draft with Manny, then edit until it sounds like you. Lead with the sound, the story or the moment; first person; no emojis. The counter reads out of 500 and turns red when Spotify would cut you off.
- Click Suggest tags to get genre, mood and instrument tags that match the fields in Spotify's form.
- Click Save draft. If the release is more than 8 days away, your manager sets a reminder for 8 days before release so you still have time to submit early.
- Follow Submit it in Spotify for Artists: click Open Spotify for Artists, go to Music, Upcoming, select the track, click "Pitch a song", paste your pitch (use Copy), set the tags, submit.
- Back in Musuni click I pitched it. The song shows Pitched and the reminder is cancelled.
Let Manny do it
Type "Draft my Spotify editorial pitch for Midnight". Manny writes the pitch and tags from what it knows about you, saves the draft, and opens the Editorial Coach with it ready to edit. Manny cannot submit the pitch: Spotify gives no one outside your account a way to do that. You paste it in Spotify for Artists yourself.
What it cannot do
- Nobody can guarantee an editorial placement, not Musuni and not anyone charging for it. Most pitched songs do not land a list. Release Radar for your existing followers is the part you control.
- Musuni cannot submit for you or pre-fill Spotify's form. The pitch and tags are copy and paste.
- The song must already be delivered by your distributor and visible under Upcoming in Spotify for Artists, and you must have access to that artist profile.
- No reminder is set when the release is less than 8 days away.
- The draft text comes from your genre and track name. Add real detail (collaborators, story, traction) yourself; Manny does not invent it.
