Reach playlist curators

A short list of real curators who openly take submissions, a DM you send yourself, and a playlist of your own that keeps working after the pitching stops.

What this gets you

Two honest paths to playlists. First, curators who publicly ask for submissions on Instagram, TikTok and X, found for your genre, with a DM draft you personalize and send from your own account. Second, a playlist you own, named for what listeners actually search, that grows followers before you need them.

When to use it

Start the owned playlist weeks before release so it has followers on day one. Search for curators in the last two weeks before release and the first two after, once you have a smart link to send them. Neither path is for a song that is not finished.

Do it

  1. Open Playlist Pitch and click the Social tab. Social tab
  2. Type your Genre, add a Vibe if it helps, and click Search. No results? Use a broader genre word.
  3. Read each card: the platform badge, the @handle and a snippet of what they posted. Click View to open the profile. Listen to the playlist before you pitch it and check that the songs get plays, not just that the playlist has followers.
  4. Read Before you DM anyone - scam red flags: anyone asking for payment, anyone guaranteeing streams, big follower counts with dead tracks, anyone who DMs you first, and anyone who wants your login. Skip them all.
  5. Click Copy DM, paste it in your own app, replace the track name and add your smart link, and send it only where your song genuinely fits. A handful of matched DMs beats a blast.
  6. Now build your own playlist: open Grow your own playlist, choose a Genre and a Mood / theme, and click Design my playlist. Grow your own playlist, genre and mood
  7. Under Name it for the search bar, pick a name labelled Strong search bet and click Use this. Names built on a famous artist are vetoed for you; your own name belongs in the description, not the title.
  8. From Playlist blueprint, click Copy on the name and description and Copy all links, then in Spotify create the playlist, paste both, add the tracks in the order shown (a known artist opens, your songs sit at 2 and 3), and make it public. Paste the playlist link under Made it on Spotify? Track its growth and click Track to see its follower count grow. Playlist blueprint and tracking

Let Manny do it

Type "Find curators taking submissions for indie rock on Instagram" and Manny runs the search and opens the Social tab with the results and the warning signs to check. Type "Name my playlist, genre afrobeats, late night" and Manny proposes five names with an honest read on demand and competition. Manny never sends a DM; every message goes from your own account.

What it cannot do

  • No placement is promised. Curators are public profiles found by web search; Musuni has not vetted them, and the search can be unavailable at times.
  • Musuni does not message curators and does not track who replied. Keep your own notes.
  • Spotify does not let apps build the playlist for you, so creating it and adding tracks is a manual two minutes.
  • Follower tracking for your playlist needs the Creator plan or higher; the blueprint itself is free.
  • Search demand is a signal, never an exact number. A Strong search bet can still be slow.
  • Never buy followers or streams for your playlist; artificial-stream penalties are real and bots poison the data that makes this work.
