Your first week on Musuni: established artist
By Friday your numbers are read, your press kit and link are live, your next release is pitched, and your posts are scheduled without you being online.
What this gets you
You already have a catalog and listeners, so week one is not about setting up. It is about turning numbers you have never had in one place into three or four decisions, and getting the machinery around your next release standing before you need it.
When to use it
Follow this if your music is on streaming services and Musuni is already showing you streams, followers and cities. If your Spotify is connected but the numbers are still empty, use the Spotify-only week instead. If you have nothing on streaming yet, use the brand-new week.
Do it
- Read your numbers once, properly. Find the one song, one city and one platform that are pulling ahead, because everything else this week points at them. Read your analytics
- Tell Manny who your music is for. Your audience is the input every pitch, caption and ad plan depends on, and he cannot guess it from streams alone. Teach Manny about you
- Build your press kit. One link you can send a venue, a blog or a curator tonight, filled in from the profile you already have. Build your press kit
- Set your next release date. Every deadline that follows, pitch, ads and content, is counted backwards from this one day. Set your release date
- Put up a pre-save and smart link. One short link that counts down before release day and sends fans to their own platform after it. Set up a pre-save and smart link
- Draft and submit your Spotify editorial pitch. It is free, it has to land at least seven days out, and it is what puts the song in your followers' Release Radar. Pitch Spotify editorial
- Schedule the release-week posts. Write them once now and they publish on time to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok while you are doing something else. Plan and schedule your content
Let Manny do it
Open the chat and say "I'm new here, walk me through my first week". He will start with your analytics and take one step at a time rather than handing you the whole list.
Useful openers as you go: "Which of my songs is growing fastest?", "Where are my fans located?", "Draft my editorial pitch for [song]", "Schedule posts for release week".
What it cannot do
- Your numbers refresh once a day, so anything that happened this morning shows up tomorrow. Do not judge a decision on a few hours.
- Playlist and radio counts read as "at least N tracked". A placement nobody caught is missing from the screen, not from your career.
- Nothing here sends on your behalf. The editorial pitch is submitted by you in Spotify for Artists, and curator or venue messages go out from your own accounts.
- Curator pitching is worth your credits only once a song has traction. If your numbers are flat, spend week one on content, your link and the editorial pitch instead. Reach playlist curators
- Royalties, payouts and Spotify for Artists saves are not here. Those stay with your distributor and Spotify.
- If the artist shown in the top-left is not yours, every number on every screen belongs to someone else. Check that first.
