Your first week on Musuni: Spotify connected, numbers still coming
By Friday your press kit and link are live, your socials are connected, your next release is pitched, and your listener numbers have started filling in on their own.
What this gets you
Your Spotify is connected but the charts are still empty, and that is normal. This week you build everything that does not need numbers, so that when the listener data lands you already have a press kit, a link and posts running.
When to use it
Follow this if Musuni knows your Spotify artist profile but Analytics is still thin or blank. If your streams, cities and playlists are already showing, use the established week. If you have no music on streaming at all, use the brand-new week.
Do it
- Open Analytics once and leave it. Numbers appear once your music has listener activity, usually within a day, and checking hourly only makes a normal gap feel like a fault. Read your analytics
- Connect your socials. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube have to be linked before anything you schedule can actually publish. Connect your accounts
- Verify your artist profile. It proves the artist is you, so pitches and venue emails can go out under your name and your page shows up in search. Verify your artist profile
- Build your press kit. Most of it fills in from your Spotify profile, so this is twenty minutes for something you can send a venue tonight. Build your press kit
- Create a smart link for your latest release. One link for every platform means every post, bio and DM from now on points somewhere you can measure. Set up a pre-save and smart link
- Draft and submit your Spotify editorial pitch. Free, and the surest way to get your next song in front of your own followers on release day. Pitch Spotify editorial
- Schedule your first week of posts. Consistency is the lever that actually works at this size, and scheduling removes the excuse. Plan and schedule your content
Let Manny do it
Say "my analytics are empty, what should I do this week?". He will skip past the numbers and start with the press kit, your link and content, which is the honest order at this point.
Useful openers: "Set up my press kit", "Create a smart link for my new release", "Draft my editorial pitch for [song]", "Schedule posts for this week".
What it cannot do
- Nobody can make listener data appear faster. It arrives when your music has real activity behind it, and a quiet catalog stays quiet on screen.
- Until the numbers land, anything that depends on them is guesswork. Curator pitching in particular is not worth your credits yet, because curators check your streams before they listen.
- Connecting an account is something only you can do. Manny can open the screen and explain the buttons, but the login is yours.
- Posts will not publish to a platform that is not connected, and Instagram video and carousel posts need a clip or images attached before they can go out.
- Your press kit is only as good as what you put in it. The parts pulled from Spotify are a starting point, not a bio.
